Family Discussion
Now is the time to discuss organ and tissue donation with your family. Family members should be fully aware of your desire to donate your organs and tissues, upon death, as they will be consulted as part of the donation process. Know that if you have not joined the Ohio Donor Registry, your next of kin will be asked permission for donation. By discussing your wishes in advance and by joining the Ohio Donor Registry, you will help relieve your family of having to make a difficult decision for you during a very sorrowful time.

Remember, people of all ages and medical histories should consider themselves potential donors. Your medical condition at the time of death will determine what can be donated.
